I'll second the flashing assessment of C2. It's a great paint for your linen closet. #Best place to color match paint home depot or lowes windows#If you have rooms with no windows and you don't care about washability, Behr is fine. And even if they do learn that the paint is bad, they may just buy it anyway because it is just simply cheaper. #Best place to color match paint home depot or lowes full#Now, I didn't stick around to test the washability of this paint after full cure, but again, most homeowners want washability and then they never wash their walls, so who cares about that anyway? All this means that Behr can probably employ any type of marketing strategy that they want geared towards the homeowner and it will succeed and they will continue to sell paint like crazy because not very many homeowners visit their local paint related message board to find out from the real painters that these big box paints really suck. The bonus for me as a painter is that not many homeowners notice that their walls look crappy unless you point directly at the crappy looking wall and say, 'See that there?'. Maybe next time I should try boxing it 1 to 1 with Floetrol? This means that any room with windows casting light down a wall, that wall is not going to look good. Keeping a wet edge with this paint doesn't really do anything for you.it's going to look pretty bad in any room with any degree of critical lighting no matter how 'well' you apply it. Other than that, it spread like crap and when I was done, the walls were a flashy mess (roller marks showed, lap lines showed, stop marks showed, etc). But, as the paint dried, it was obvious that the coverage was just average. The paint appeared to cover in one coat when it was wet (taupe color over builders white) which was impressive. I recently had the opportunity to paint a ginormous 2 story foyer/family room with Behr Premium Flat or whatever it is called. Well, I don't know how valid the 'only use 100 percent acrylic paint' rule is anymore. If you still need help choosing, call or email me. They should be able to steer you in the right direction. Talk to the paint specialist and tell them your project. Just know your products bc everyone of our paints do something different. Meaning you will keep rolling back and forth over and over, then Regal is for you. However, if you’re inexperienced or need allot of “play“ with your paint. Decorators and Designers typically go for this paint. If you are experienced with paint and do not need allot of “play“ with your paint then Aura is fantastic and if you pick a bold color, you will love this paint. So if you are one who needs to play a little with your paint then Aura is not for you bc it dries so quickly it could cause lap marks. I do know that Aura is our top of the line paint but it dries really quickly. Now for the person who stated that it took them 3 coats for BM paint to cover, I have never heard of this ever happening. In fact I have bought a gallon of Name Unmentioned (but not BM) and it went on so thick but didn’t cover and a year later was cracking and flaking. Just bc a paint goes on thick, doesn’t mean that it will cover. What makes a good paint, is the resins/base. ![]() However, I have been blown away at the difference I have seen in the quality product of Benjamin Moore Paint. I truly believe that every paint company has there great product lines as well there not so great products. ![]() I also have 16 years of experience painting professionally with our family owned company. When I worked for Lowe’s, I sold SW, Valspar, & Olympic. I’d love to weigh in on this conversation. I would definitely consider this option again! Just my two bits! I found the paint quality to be very high for the price. It wasn’t perfect, but was slightly less yellow and I liked the effect more than the original which I always thought was a bit too yellow. The match ended up being very, very close. Plus, I was planning to repaint all the white in my daughter’s room, so if the colour was slightly different, it didn’t really matter. I was a bit sceptical, but at literally half the price, I thought I’d give it a try. The guy at the paint desk at HD said that Behr has taken BM’s most popular colours (White Dove is one of them) and has re-created formulas that create better colour matches using their paints. In any case, I thought I’d try to have Home Depot match White Dove using Behr paint. But then I end up with all this left over paint. I do love their paint, but I knew I’d only need half a gallon - the difference between buying 2 quarts and a gallon is $10, so it doesn’t make sense to buy the quarts. I wanted to refresh 2 walls in my daughter’s room and just didn’t feel like spending the $80 for a can of BM. I love the colour White Dove from Benjamin Moore and I almost always go with a local BM dealer for my paint. I just asked about colour-matching at Home Depot. ![]()
